Biography
Mr. Kern Briscoe serves as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Volker Stevin Contracting Ltd. (VSC). Mr. Briscoe is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of VS Canada as well as those of VSC's subsidiaries, VS Contracting, VS Highways, H. Wilson Industries in Fort McMurray & McNally Contractors in Lethbridge. He joined VS in 1985 as a Project Supervisor and served as its Manager of Special Projects, and Manager of Roads & Special Projects. When VSC was the successful proponent for Southern Alberta’s Highway Maintenance Contracts in 1996, he also assumed management of that Division & in 2001 was promoted to Vice President of Asphalt Operations & Highway Maintenance. He served as Senior Vice President, & Director of VSC since 2008 and was appointed to the Presidency in 2009. In his nearly 40 years in the construction industry in Calgary, he has forged enduring partnerships with land developers, clients, suppliers & subcontractors as well as earning their respect. He has skills in the industry for 10 years. He serves as a Director of Volker Stevin Contracting Ltd. Mr. Briscoe earned his BA at U of C.
