Biography
Lucid believes in Yoga! She champions that these time tested and ever evolving practices of awareness, breath, movement, meditation and sound, have profound benefits for every aspect of life. She came to yoga in 1994 @ the Integral Yoga Institute, NYC while in recovery from a dis-eased body and mind. Since then she has delved deeply into many different forms of Yoga and pulls from these disciplines for various applications. For 20+ years she worked an actress and circus performer wherein her yoga practice was essential to condition body and mind. As a mother Lucid began to dive more deeply into Yogic studies and committed to teacher training at Yoga Tree. Due to the immense impact of cancer on the world and the fine tutelage of Jnani Chapman, RN/RYT she learned and studies still about this disease, its causes, effects, and the effects of treatments. She is trained and experienced in how to guide people dealing with this illness in caring for the body mind and spirit with yoga. She is strongly activated to help conquer the sources of this disease. Lucid’s Anusara teacher training informs her strong focus on the graceful energizing of proper alignment, immersion in Nondualist Tantrik Philosophy studies with Hareesh Wallis among others, nourish her teachings from the ground that all beings are whole and perfect at their essence. From there comes the love of Vinyasa / flow, & dance to leave the mind behind as we ride the waves of breath into maha discovery of the fullness of life in a body! Lucids classes start slow and mindful, focusing on breath and alignment and then move into a more vigorous and playful flow. She winds down to a restorative ending of pranayama, toning or chanting and meditation. Her inspirations and teachers are her sister Eve Isbell, Janet Stone, Sianna Sherman, and Desree’ Rumbaugh among others. Lucid is an avid reader of ancient yogic scripture and modern yogic thought. She thrives on learning, adventure and research. She also brings in her theatrical experience to lead wildly fun and unique “party time” yoga classes with her beloved, & transcendental musician EEnor as Nona Fender and the BEnders! It is her goal to help all beings feel fully alive and at ease in their bodies!
