Craig Maccubbin

Biography

Craig Maccubbin joined WestJet on April 24, 2017 as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO). Craig's journey from Southwest Airlines, where he was the Chief Technology Officer, to a smooth landing here at WestJet keeps him in an industry he truly loves. Craig's range of experiences, expertise and background in low-cost airlines, IT and human resources make him invaluable as WestJet tackles an ongoing technology transformation. His career in senior leadership roles spans over 25 years, including CIO for Spirit Airlines, LasVegas.com and Black Entertainment Television. Craig still relies on some great advice from his Dad: “You can do anything that you set your mind to. It is only a matter of ‘will you do the work?'” Craig is proud to have been a key player in the founding of the Aviation Information Sharing and Analysis Center (A-ISAC), a group focused on cyber threat intelligence sharing across the global aviation industry. Craig is a photographer, a musician, and he collects first edition rare books. Craig's favourite destination is Scotland because he enjoys visiting the ruins of the family castle, fishing for pike and salmon, meeting the wonderful people, and being in the most beautiful country.
