Research Interest
Dr. Piotr Wilk’s current research focuses on chronic disease surveillance and prevention and the links between social determinants of health, health-related modifiable behaviours, and health outcomes at a local and national level. In particular, he is interested in assessing the contribution of socioeconomic and behavioural risk factors to hospitalization for chronic disease using linked survey and administrative datasets. Dr. Wilk is also engaged in qualitative studies on factors that affect the health and wellness of Indigenous children living primarily in urban areas.
