Biography
Kim Rygiel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Wilfrid Laurier University and the Balsillie School of International Affairs and is the Associate Director and research associate with Laurier’s International Migration Research Centre (IMRC). Her research focuses on border security, migration and citizenship politics within North America and in Europe. She received her PhD from York University in 2006; her MA from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, Carleton University in 1996. Prior to joining Laurier, she completed a SSHRC postdoctoral fellow at the Institute on Globalization and the Human Condition at McMaster University and was an assistant professor in the Department of Politics at Trent University.
