Stephen Richardson

Biography

 Stephen Richardson is Technical Lead for the WorldGBC European Regional Network's Energy Efficiency Mortgages project. This ground-breaking EU funded project will develop proposals for a mortgage financing initiative to support energy efficiency improvements in buildings to help deliver the EU's ambitious climate targets. Stephen is leading the research to establish what indicators can be used to evaluate the energy performance of domestic properties across Europe. Working closely with our Green Building Councils and Regional Partners in Europe, he is collaborating with stakeholders and experts from across the region.   Stephen is a chartered building services engineer and has worked in consultancy, local government and industrial research. He has expertise in energy and carbon reduction in buildings and has worked in building energy and sustainability certification.   Prior to joining WorldGBC, he was completing an industry based doctorate (EngD) with Sainsbury's and the University of Reading, focusing on uncertainty in carbon based design and investment decisions for buildings.   Stephen is based in London, UK.
