Biography

Kadeshah Swearing joined UCCI as a Senior Lecturer in August 2013. She graduated with distinction, and top of her class, from the University of the West Indies (UWI) with a Masters degree in Economics concentrating in Finance and Game Theory. She holds a first degree in Mathematics with honours also from UWI. In addition, she earned a Diploma in Education which allows her to teach Mathematics, Computer Studies and Complimentary Literature. Kadeshah has approximately ten years of teaching experience. At the secondary level she has taught A-Level Mathematics. She has lectured at both the University of Technology and The University of the West Indies in Jamaica where she has taught Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Economics for Hospitality and Tourism, Mathematics for Economists, Calculus for Social Sciences, Preliminary Math, Social Studies and Econometrics. While at UTECH, she served on several committees and was integral in the development of the BSc. Economics program. She was the advisor of all BSc. Economics students and later formed JBEST (Jamaica Business and Economics Society of Tomorrow). She was also a facilitator for the First Year Experience Program and published two papers in the US with colleagues in 2012. She is very much interested in research.
