Biography
Tracey Hargrave joined the UCCI team as a Mathematics Lecturer in 1997 and she currently holds the post of Coordinator for the Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Her background in the teaching of Mathematics and Statistics at a college level aid in her delivery of UCCI’s course offerings, and her experience in curriculum development enables her to successfully coordinate the introduction and revamping of programs in the Mathematics area. In her capacity as Coordinator for the proposed Nursing Program, she coordinates all aspects of its development including liaising with faculty and students, developing curricula and associated documentation, and serving on the development committee. Ms. Hargrave has over nineteen years’ experience in tertiary education, initially at a college in central London, before moving to the Cayman Islands to teach at the former Community College, now University College. During her time at the College, Tracey has introduced a number of innovations, most recently the requirement for graphing calculators in higher level mathematics courses and the Pre-College Mathematics sequence. She has produced teaching materials on a commercial basis, published in the UK and has served on the consultation committee for the Cayman Islands National Curriculum in Mathematics. Tracey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from University College, University of London, a Masters in Applied Statistics and Operational Research from Birkbeck College, University of London and a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Mathematics from the Institute of Education, University of London. She is a trained Group Fitness Instructor, certified by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America and currently teaches BTS programs and Zumba classes at a local gym.
