Biography
Qualifications Dr. Wang graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Medicine (1992-1997) and Master’s degree in Acupuncture (1998-2001) from the Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China. Experience Dr. Wang has 20 years of experience as a practitioner of Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, including 10 years in the West. Between earning his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, he has worked as acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist at the Liaoning Provincial Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where he resumed his post in 2001 after graduating with the Master’s degree. Academic Work Dr. Wang is one of the main lecturers at the Chinese Medical Institute and Register (CMIR). He teaches the Chinese Herbal Materia Medica and Prescription Diploma. The course is open only to qualified and accredited medical doctors and healthcare professionals. Dr. Wang also participates in the delivery of the CMIR CPD courses as well as the introductory courses in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture organised by the AcuMedic Foundation for the King’s College and St. George’s medical students at the University of London. Clinical Specialties Dr. Wang specialises in the areas of andrology (men’s health) and treats conditions such as erectile dysfunction (previously known as impotence) and premature ejaculation; gynaecology(women’s health) e.g. irregular menstruation; male and female infertility; dermatology (skinconditions) such as eczema, acne, psoriasis and allergies including hay fever, asthma and hives(urticaria); pain syndromes and soft tissue injuries; neurology e.g. sciatica, bell’s palsy, strokeand complicated chronic conditions (internal medicine) which currently Western medicine finds difficult to treat. Experience of Working in the UK Dr. Wang has now been practising Chinese Medicine and acupuncture in London since 2007. He has also spent 3 years working as acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist in Dublin, Republic of Ireland. “In the West I treat a lot of people suffering from depression, stress, insomnia, fatigue and pain syndromes. I provide my patients with advice on lifestyle, diet and exercise. My approach is to give a ‘heart-to-heart’ treatment by actually listening to my patients and talking to them in order to offer advice, ideas and counselling. I don’t just offer medicine but human treatment for human conditions.” More About Dr. Wang “I like to spend my free time going through my notes as I prepare to teach students. I always keep studying and learning about Chinese Medicine. I enjoy spending time with my children and cooking. I also like reading books and watching movies – both Chinese and Western.
