Biography
Ames is Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery. He previously was the Robert F. Fly Professor and Deputy Chairman of the Department of General Surgical Oncology retiring from full time service in 2007 after 30 years service. For the past 20 years his practice has been focused on breast disease and he previously served as Head of the Breast Surgical Section. He has authored or co-authored over 200 journal articles and book chapters, the majority of which focus on breast disease. He continues to serve as Clinical Professor on the Breast Surgical Service actively treating patients.
