Biography

Junshan Gao is a professor and a master supervisor with a doctoral degree, which serve as a vice-director of Biological Science Department and director of plant physiology and biochemistry Laboratory, School of Life Sciences, Anhui Agricultural University, and an assistant of leader of 115 industry innovation team in Anhui province. He graduated from Anhui Agricultural University in July 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in agronomy. He received a master’s degree for crop genetic breeding in Anhui Agricultural University in July 2001. From December 2003, he studied in Japan and obtained a doctoral degree for biological engineering from Tokyo University Agricultural & Technology in March 2008. Thereafter, he engaged in postdoctoral research at the genetic research center of Tokyo University Agriculture & Technology and the biological engineering research center of University of Tokyo. He is a specialist in crop genetics and breeding, animal and plant physiology and biochemistry, molecular biology, cell engineering and secondary metabolite of plant. At this stage, he mainly engaged in insect physiology, biochemistry and molecular biology, cotton germplasm innovation and fiber pigment formation mechanism, plant-virus interaction and signal transduction pathway, molecular mechanisms of plant mineral nutrient absorption and transport, medicinal plant tissue culture and secondary metabolism, and so on. In recent years, he presided over and participated in more than 10 research projects at the national, provincial and ministerial levels, and published more than 20 papers in international and domestic core journals, and got 5 authorized national invention patents.
