Biography
Professor Xiang is now an Alternate of Anhui Academic & Technology Leader, University Academic Leader of Ornamental Plants & Horticulture, Director of Master Degree Program in Genetics and Breeding of Plants, Director of Chinese Society for Genetics and Breeding of Plants, and Director of Anhui Society for Cell Biology. She was a teacher at Hefei Forestry School from 1988 to 1994. Then she joined the School of Forestry and Landscape Architecture Faculty at Anhui Agricultural University in 1994 and rose to the rank of Professor in 2004. Professor Xiang teaches Forest Genetics, Genetics and Breeding of Ornamental Plants, Modern Technology in Forestry, Advanced Breeding of Ornamental Plants, Genetic Improvement of Forest Trees, and Genetic Engineering at the undergraduate and graduate level. The research conducted by Professor Xiang is focused on genetics & breeding of plants and biotechnology. Her research involves bioinformatics, molecular biology of plants, and plant cell engineering & molecular breeding. She is the principle investigator of over 10 research projects and has won 1 Second Prize of Natural Science Award of Anhui, 1 Scientific Achievement Award of Anhui, and 1 Scientific Achievement Award by Ministry of Education. She is also the author of over 50 publications and 10 national patents.
