Zhimou Gao

Biography

Dr. Zhimou Gao was graduated in plant protection from Anhui Agricultural University in 1982, in phytopathology from Nanjiang Agricultural University in 1998, and conferred Doctorate of Agriculture at the same time. He successively held the posts of assistant (1982~1989), lecturer (1990~1993), associate professor (1994~1998) and professor (1999~). Now he is a professor, doctorate postgraduate supervisor, and the principal of Plant Protection Speciality in College of Plant Protection, Anhui Agricultural University. He is also the president of the Phytopathology Society of Anhui Province, standing councillor of Chinese Society for Plant Pathology and commissioner of the Association of Science and Technology of Anhui Province. Since1982, he has been engaged in teaching and researches of plant pathology and mycology, with mycology and plant fungal diseases as main interests. He was successively in charge of or took part in 26 scientific researching projects at province or ministry level and above, such as the National Natural Scientific Foundation Projects, the commonwealth specialized research fund of China Agriculture Ministry, the Anhui Province Natural Scientific Foundation Projects, and so on. He was also in charge of and took part in 6 teaching research projects at province or university level. At present, he is in charge of or takes part in 12 scientific researching and teaching research projects at province or ministry level and above. He won 1 second-rate prize for scientific and technological advance of Agriculture Ministry, 1 second-rate prize for natural science of Education Ministry, 1 second-rate prize for teaching achievement of Anhui Province and 8 other prizes. He wrote and published 18 copies of college textbooks and scientific works, morn than 160 pieces of scientific papers on academic periodicals at home and abroad (26 on SCI, 48 on national key periodicals), such as Plant and Cell Physiology, Plant Molecular Biology, Plant Disease, Mycologyia, Canadian Journal of Botany, Mycosystema, Acta Phytopathologica Sinica, and so on. Invited by CAB International in 2000, he took part in compiling Global Corp Protection Compendium (2nd edition, CABI,2001). Moreover, he was chosen a Middle-aged and Young Leader in High School Subject of Anhui Province in 2000, Model Teacher of Anhui Province in 2001, Advanced Worker of Anhui Province in 2002, Top Talent in High School Subject of Anhui Province in 2003, Famous Teachers of Anhui Province in 2009, and National Excellent Worker of Science and Technology in 2014, respectively.
