Appointed Non-Executive Director in September 2005 and Chairman in October 2012. Chair of the Governance Committee and member of the Human Resources Committee. Current Directorships: Non-Executive Director at Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, Stronghold Pty Ltd, Barnes Investments Pty Ltd (Retired as Chairman of Australian Unity Limited at end March 2016). Mr Barnes has over twenty years of governance experience in banking and financial services, business information, consumer goods and the not-for-profit sector. He was involved in the packaged goods, banking and financial services sectors for over thirty years, as an executive, business leader and Director in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, United States of America, Republic of Ireland, Japan and China.
