Biography
Jim Pauley began his tenure as chair of the ANSI Board of Directors in January, 2012. In his role as senior vice president, external affairs and government relations for Schneider Electric, Mr. Pauley is responsible for external affairs, legislative policy, and regulatory policy for Schneider Electric in the U.S., including both federal and state level activity. As part of his external affairs role, he has responsibility for the Schneider Electric strategy and participation in the standards and conformity assessment space. Mr. Pauley has been involved in standards activities for more than 25 years. He has served in various capacities with groups throughout the industry, including ANSI, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), and the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI). Mr. Pauley is a resident and native of Kentucky, USA. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Professional Engineer Registration in Kentucky. He is the author of multiple papers including, "The Energy Lifecycle of a Building - Key to Improved Profits," "The Electrical Safety System in the United States," and "North American Codes and Standards: A Global Challenge."
