Biography
Dr. Ming Guo has over 20 years of experience in global pharmaceutical industry, including previously ABC Laboratories, Monsanto, Pfizer, Ascenta Therapeutics. At Pfizer, Dr. Guo participated in many NCE drug R&D projects with various technical and project management roles. At Ascenta, Dr. Guo was the founding Vice President of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Manufacturing, and also the General Manager of Ascenta (Shanghai) R&D Center which engaged in NCE drug R&D in China since 2005. Dr. Guo played important role at Ascenta in global out-licensing deals (e.g., with Sanofi-Aventis in 2010 and with Debio in 2011). Dr. Guo was an Overseas Advisor for Beijing Zhongguangcun Biotech Park in China during 2002-2005, and received “ Special Contribution Award” from the China SFDA in 2009 for his contribution to the modernization efforts of SFDA guidelines. He has been an adjunct professor, a faculty and graduate student adviser for the IPEM program at Peking University since 2007. Dr. Guo serves as an Independent Board Director at Porton Corporation (Chongqing, China) since 2010, overseeing its successful IPO at Shengzhen Exchange, China, in Jan., 2014. As the co-founder and the founding Chairman, Dr. Guo served on Board of Directors of SABPA during 2002-2014. He is also a member of BayHelix Group and other professional organizations. Dr. Guo is the author or co-author of several dozens of papers, patents, and book chapters, and the invited speaker or panelist at many international professional and business conferences. Dr. Guo received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at the University of California at San Diego; M.Sc. in Medicinal Chemistry at Institute of Materia Meica, Chinese Academy of Sciences; and B.S. in Chemistry at Peking Normal University.
