Biography

Suebsiri Taweepon is a partner at Tilleke & Gibbins specializing in intellectual property. For six consecutive years, he has been recognized as one of the top legal experts in Asia by the annual Asialaw Leading Lawyers survey. Suebsiri takes a considered, practical approach to his work, and has experience in a wide range of intellectual property matters, both contentious and noncontentious, including litigation, licensing, and registration of intellectual property rights, with particular emphasis in computer software and technology-related industries. He advises local and overseas clients on protecting and managing their portfolios of trademarks, patents, designs, copyrights, and domain names, as well as commercial licensing of intellectual assets. Suebsiri has been involved in several government consultations and has a great deal of experience in anticounterfeiting matters, including investigation of intellectual property infringement and criminal raid actions. In addition to his work at Tilleke & Gibbins, Suebsiri is Co-Chair of the Emerging IP Rights Committee of APAA (the Asian Patent Attorneys Association). He is also an adjunct lecturer, teaching intellectual property law in the Faculty of Law, Chulalongkorn University (one of the top law schools in Thailand), and other universities. Suebsiri is a prolific author of articles and other publications, and a regular speaker at conferences and seminars on intellectual property–related topics.
