Biography
As Director of Chemical development, Dr. Johnson is responsible for projects from early clinical phase through to commercial production. His main focus is on API manufacture and advanced commercial intermediates involving multiple process validations and critical process parameter assessment studies. Dr. Johnson brings over 15 years of experience working in the contract research/manufacturing environment. Prior to joining Asymchem in April, 2008 he spent 7 years working at AMRI in Albany, NY and 1 ½ years with Biofocus in the UK. He is the author or co-author of numerous publications and patents. A graduate of the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, Dr. Johnson obtained his Chemistry B.S. in 1995 and continued his studies to complete his Ph.D. in the synthesis of complex carbohydrates in 1998. He completed his postdoctoral studies investigating ortho metallation and cross coupling strategies for the preparation PCB metabolites with Victor Snieckus at Queen’s University, Canada.
