James Lim

Biography

James is currently the first Asian on Becton Dickinson’s Senior Leadership Management Committee reporting to the CEO. BD is a leading medical technology company engaged principally in the manufacture and sale of medical supplies, devices, instrument systems and reagents. The company headquartered in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, employs nearly 30,000 associates in more than 50 countries throughout the world.   James joined BD in 1994 from Seagate International, as Engineering and Facility Manager of BD Medical (Singapore), and after a 3-year assignment in R&D, he became Plant Manager in year 2000. In 2003, he was promoted as Director of Operations, Asia Pacific, where he was responsible for the regional Manufacturing organizations and Supply Chain function, covering plants from Bawal in India to Suzhou in China. In April 2008, he was appointed as Vice President for Central and Asia Pacific responsible for Central Asia Business Management and the overall support functions for entire Asia Pacific region. Four years later he was appointed as President of Greater Asia and an Executive member of the Company. Mr. James Lim leads Greater Asia that covers Japan, China, Taiwan/HK, Australia, and New Zealand, Korea, South-East Asia, India and Pakistan. James had his earlier education in Malaysia but studied at the Nanyang Technological University where he graduated with a Mechanical Engineering Degree. James occasionally participates as a panel member at regional Business Leader’s meetings to learn more from others and sharing different views on how to tackle business issues.
