Jianzhang Li

Biography

Professor Li obtained his bachelor degree at Tianjin University majoring polymer engineering in 1988. He served as an assistant professor at Beijing Forestry University from 1988 to 1996, and then enrolled Shimane University in Japan as a graduate student in 1996. After obtained his master degree in 1998, he continued to do his doctorate at Tottori University in Japan. In 2001, he joined Beijing Forestry University again as an associate professor. After seven years of service with BJFU, He was named professor because of his outstanding contributions at teaching and researching in wood science and technology. Lab and Group associations: He currently serves as vice president of Wood Industry Branch in China Forest Society, member of Wood and Bamboo Industry Technology Innovation Strategy Alliance Expert Committee, member of Chinese Forest Products Industry Association Experts Advisory Committee.  Publications and Patents: Professor Li has published more than 140 journal papers and professional conference proceedings; He has gotten 29 of National Invention Patent authorization, 18 of which are the first inventor.  Honors and Awards: As the first completer, professor Li received 3 of National/provincial/ministerial level science and Technology Awards, including the second prize of National Technology Invention Award, Beijing city science and Technology Award, Beijing invention patent award. As a key completer, he received 3 of provincial/ministerial level science and Technology Awards.

Research Interest

Professor Li is experienced in the processing and evaluation of wood composites and adhesives, including wood-based products and natural fiber composites. His research interests also include nanocomposites, adhesive and adhesion. He is currently teaching “Adhesive and coating” and “wood composites and adhesives” for both undergraduate students and graduate students He is/was presiding 16 of National and Provincial level research project, including Natural Science Foundation of China, National Sci-tech Support Plan, Forestry Research in the Public Interest (Major project) , and so on. He is/was also participated in 17 of projects, including National “863 Project”, Natural Science Foundation of China, the Key Project of the National Forestry Bureau, and so on. Many research achievements were applied in enterprises production. More than 20 graduate students got their master or Ph. D. degrees under his supervision, and as the vice supervisor, one doctoral dissertation was nominated at National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of P. R. China
