Jiarong Gao

Biography

Gao Jiarong, professor and doctorial tutor of School OF Soil And Water Conservation, Beijing Forestry University, Director of the Teaching and Research Office OF Watershed. Graduated from Agricultural University OF Vienna, Austria in 1987, and received Ph.D of Watershed Harnessing Engineering at the same time. As a expert in Watershed Harnessing, River Ecological and study and control of Mountain Disasters, Professor Gao Jiarong mainly engaged in study and teaching in Soil and Water Conservation, Forest Hydrology and Ecological Environment Construction. Moreover he is the first domestic scholar that brings Stream Near-natural Control measurements from abroad. Being responsible for undergraduate and graduate courses such as ‘Introduction on Forestry’, ‘Ecology’, ‘Forestry Ecology’, ‘ Forest Management’,‘Survey of Forestry ’, ‘Hydrology’, ‘Watershed Management’, ‘Soil and Water Conservation’, ‘Ecological Environment Construction’ et al. He has hosted several National Technological Projects from ‘Tenth Five-year Plan’, ‘Eleventh Five-Year project’, ‘Twelfth Five-year Plan’, implemented a number of projects from National Natural Science Foundation, Beijing Natural Science Foundation, and International Science AND Technology Cooperation Projects, received provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological progress awards 5 times, published 5 books, and has published over 100 thesis.
