Biography
Yonghong Mei is Director of China National GeneBank, Chairman and CEO of BGI Agriculture Group. He graduated from Department of Agronomy, Huazhong Agricultural University. He served as Director of Policies, Regualtions and Reform in Ministry of Science and Technology, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor of Jining City. During his tenure in Ministry of Science and Technology, he was engaged in strategic research, policies, regulations, reform and talents management. He has made contributions to the establishment and implement of national self-dependent innovation. During his tenure in Jining city, he endeavored to promote industrial structural transformation, develop modern service industry, and facilitate scientific and technological progress.
