Biography
Leong Kee Mei is the Director of Safety and Health at Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). Kee Mei has more than a decade of experience in the fields of safety management system, high containment laboratory safety system, safety program for animal facility, risk communication, emergency preparedness in research environment, business contingency plans and Good Laboratory Practice. Prior employment in pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, she was trained as a quality assurance specialist with comprehensive understanding of Documentation Control and Quality Assurance System. She has served on the Biorisk Association of Singapore as one of the pioneers for Committee Member Board. Currently serving as a member of Biosafety Technical Committee for Singapore National Level Biosafety Structured Training Program driven by Singapore Workforce Development Agency. The program is an inter-agency and ministry collective effort to drive Singapore's benchmark of biosafety competency level with professional recognition. She values the need for knowledge update in preparation to widen scope of responsibilities and dynamism of work requirement. She is trained as a safety auditor and holds a certification in Advanced Certificate In Training And Assessment for Adult Learning. She Medicine and Pharmaceuticals believes the quality of work one delivers reflects the value and dedication of the person. Self driven and highly motivated, she strives to challenge herself in whatever she does and always welcome new responsibilities. Her adage in life is "When one stops learning, one stops progressing".
