Biography
I have been a Canadian citizen and was a US permanent resident, with M.Sc., Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. I was a Full Professor of Neurology and Physiology/ Biophysics with tenure at the University of Tennessee, Memphis. I found the non-profit Cell Therapy Research Foundation in USA and the Cell Therapy Institute in China. I pioneered human somatic cell therapies and genome therapies, and developed angiomyogenic cell therapies to treat debilitating and fatal diseases such as muscular dystrophies, cancer, heart diseases, Type II diabetes and aging. I pioneered and hold world patents on Human Myoblast Genome Therapy, a platform technology in Regenerative Medicine. My studies, published in Lancet, Nature and Science, have been featured on CNN, BBC, CBC, NBC, USA Today, New York Times and Wall Street Journal. I have been an editor-in-chief, sectional editor-in-chief and a manuscript reviewer for reputable journals. I chaired many scientific sessions in international conferences, and various committees in University Senate.
