Biography
ZiHong Guo serves as an Executive Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Shanghai ChemPartner Company Limited. Dr. Guo is responsible for managing medicinal chemistry projects (hit to lead and lead optimization as well as medicinal chemistry supporting chemistry) with diverse therapeutic portfolios. With 14 years of R&D experience in synthetic organic/medicinal chemistry in the states, Dr. Guo joined Shanghai ChemPartner Co. in May 2006. Before joining ChemPartner, Dr. Guo held several positions in pharmaceutical companies, including 3-Dimensional Pharmaceuticals, Exton, PA and Daiichi Asubio Medical Research Laboratories, Cambridge, MA. Dr. Guo has authored over a dozen papers and filed six patent applications. He is a member of the American Chemical Society. After working and studying in Changsha and Beijing, he moved to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York, for his Ph.D. studies under the supervision of Professor Arthur G. Schultz, with research interest in synthetic methodology development and asymmetric total syntheses of natural products. Dr. Guo received his BS degree in Chemistry in 1982 from Lanzhou University, MS degree in organic synthesis in 1985 from Xi'an Institute of Modern Chemistry and received a Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry in 1998.
