Research Interest
Professor LIAO’s research focuses on: (1) the molecular and cellular mechanisms of glia in the central nervous system disease, such as stroke, trauma and Alzheimer’s disease. (2) The evaluation and drug screening for natural compounds affecting neurodegeneration disease. Glia are very important cells in the nervous system and involve in pathogenesis and pathophysiology of many CNS disorders. Our group just explore the effects of some molecules expressed on the glia on the CNS disorders, such as NgR (Nogo receptor), p75NTR, CD200,etc.
