Biography
Bi Guoqiang graduated from the Department of Physics, Peking University in 1989. He graduated from University of California, Berkeley in 1996, receiving doctoral degree in biophysics. Subsequently he served as postdoctoral fellow in neurobiology at University of California, San Diego. Since 2000, he served as an assistant professor and associate professor, and got tenure at School of Medicine of University of Pittsburgh. He once was invited to write guest reviews for Annual Review of Neuroscience and other international authoritative academic journals, and taught numerous international courses and seminars organized by the Woods Hole Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) and other institutions. He won the Burroughs Wellcome Career Award and other academic awards. Since 2007, he, employed by USTC, has begun to set up the Neural Biophysics Research Office and Neural Photonics Workstation. He was selected into CAS Hundred Talents Program, and won the National Science Founds for Distinguished Young Scientists. In 2007 he was elected Changjiang Scholar by Ministry of Education. He has published more than 40 papers in the international academic journals and his papers have been quoted by others totally more than 6,000 times.
