Biography
Hu Yuan, male, is now a professor at the State Key Laboratory of Fire Science, University of Science and Technology of China. Hu’s main research interests cover flame-retardant polymeric materials, biodegradable polymeric materials, evaluation and improvement of fire safety materials, monitoring of hazardous chemicals, and critical technologies in emergency response and environmental restoration. Prof. Hu has done massive research work in the field of flame-retardant polymer materials, clean flame retardation, and fire safety engineering. He has also been committed to the transfer of existing scientific and technological achievements into productivity. Prof. Hu has hosted or participated in a number of research projects supported by such organizations and institutions as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ph.D. Programs Foundation of the Ministry of Education of China, the National Basic Research Program of China (also known as the “973” Program), the Special Fund for New Materials Research of the National Development and Reform Commission of China, the Knowledge Innovation Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Key Technologies R&D Program of China During the 10th Five-year Plan Period, etc. Since 2000, Prof. Hu has authored more than 190 research papers indexed by SCI, six scientific research achievements evaluated by the Anhui Provincial Department of Science and Technology, seven monographs or co-authored books, two authorized patents, as well as 16 applications for patent for invention.
