Huang Liusheng

Biography

Huang Liusheng, male, born in April 1957, is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Huang previously served as Deputy Director of the National High Performance Computing Center at Hefei, Dean of the Department of Computer Science and Technology, and Vice Dean of the School of Information Science & Technology, USTC. Academic positions that Prof. Huang assumes or has assumed include: Executive Associate Dean of USTC Suzhou Institute for Advanced Study, Member of the Steering Committee on Information Security Education of the Ministry of Education of China, Executive Director of the Committee on Computer Science Education of the China Computer Federation, Member of the Committee on Wireless Sensor Network of the China Computer Federation, Member of the Committee on E-governance and Office Automation of the China Computer Federation, Member of Editorial Board of Journal of University of Science and Technology of China, and Member of Editorial Board of or Advisor to a number of publishing houses such as the Publishing House of Electronics Industry, the Machinery Industry Press, the Posts and Telecommunications Press, the Tsinghua University Press, etc. Besides, Prof. Huang also serves as the program committee member, organizing committee member, and chairman of many international academic conferences. Prof. Huang is also a recipient of special allowances from the State Council. In recent years, Prof. Huang has undertaken, either in his capacity as a chief investigator or as a key participant, more than 20 research projects such as the ones supported by the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (namely, the “863” Program), the ones supported by the National Basic Research Program of China (also known as the “973” Program), the ones supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and others supported by the Chinese Academy of Sciences or ministries and state commissions. Prof. Huang has won many an award including the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the second prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award, and the first, second and third prizes of many other awards at the ministerial and provincial levels. Prof. Huang has authored six monographs, as well as more than 100 research papers or invited papers published in influential academic journals at home and abroad or presented to international academic conferences such as ACM Computing Surveys, J. of Combinational Optimization, Int'l J. of Sensor Networks, J.of Supercomuting, JCST, CJE, etc., of which over 80 were indexed by SCI/EI.
