Biography
Damao Yao, was born in 1963. He got Bachelor of Science in Hefei University of Technology, and PhD in ASIPP. He works on fusion engineering and technology more than 20 years. He ever work in National Institute of Nuclear Physics of Italy (DAFNE), General Atomic Company in America (DIII-D), Garching IPP in Germany (ASDEX-U), CEA Cadarache in France (Tour Supra), NIFS (LHD) and JAEA (JT-60U) in Japan, Kurchatov Institute in Russia (T-15, T-10) etc. He ever in charge of or involve in more than ten projects. He was chief engineer designed and constructed EAST superconducting tokamak vacuum vessel, the first active water cooling divertor and active water cooling first wall in China; Chief engineer complete HT-7 superconducting tokamak active water cooling limiter design. Now he is one member of ITER (International Thermalnuclear Experimental Reactor) International Organization continue to work on fusion engineering and technology.
