Biography

Shi Zhongci academician, born in December 1933 in Zhejiang Yinxian. In 1951 into the Department of Mathematics, Zhejiang University, in 1952 transferred to the Department of Mathematics, Fudan University, after graduating in 1955 to the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Mathematics. In 1956 went to the Soviet Union to study mathematics. After returning to China in 1960 , he worked at the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 1965 to 1986 taught at the China University of Science and Technology, any director of the Department of Mathematics and Computing Center. From 1987 to 1991 , he was the director of the Computing Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The current director of the Institute of Computing Science and Mathematics and Engineering Computing " scientific and engineering computing ," director of the Academic Committee of the State Key Laboratory. Former vice president of China Mathematical Society (1988-1995) , the current chairman of China Institute of Computational Mathematics. In 1991 , he was elected academician of the Department of Mathematics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Academician Shi Zhongci specializes in the numerical solution of differential equations and makes important contributions to the theory and application of finite element method. In 1987 was awarded the national level has made outstanding contributions to the glorious title of young experts. Shi Zhongci is a famous computer mathematician, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He graduated from Fudan University in the early years, and then engaged in the theoretical research and application of finite element. The first spline finite element method was widely used in practical calculation and caused a lot of successor work. The convergence of nonconforming elements was proved to prove that the popular one And the new discriminant criterion is found. It is found that a series of peculiar misalignment properties of nonconforming elements are theoretically confirmed by the phenomena observed in the early engineering calculations. The convergence of the highly valuable nonconforming elements in the application, and laid the theoretical foundation.
