Biography
Dr. Shanfa Lu is a Xiehe distinguished professor at the Institute of Medicinal Plant Development, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree (1991) in plant physiology & biochemistry and a Master’s degree (1994) in plant physiology from Beijing Agricultural University and a Ph.D. degree (1999) in botany from the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Lu had been a Research Assistant (1994-1997) and an Assistant Professor (1997-2000) at the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, a Postdoctoral Research Scientist (2000-2002) at Michigan Technological University, and a Postdoctoral Research Associate (2002-2007) and a Research Assistant Professor (2007-2009) at North Carolina State University. Dr. Lu has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers and reviewed some manuscripts and grant proposals for about 20 international journals and 6 Chinese and international funds. Dr. Lu is also an editorial board member of GM Crops.
