Biography
Prof. Chen Hongzhang is the vice director of State Key Laboratory of Biochemical Engineering, also an editorial board of the Chinese Journal of Process Engineering. He is the chief scientist of National Basic Research Program of China. He has been engaged in the research of high-value utilization of straw for more than 20 years and set up the key platforms for biomass efficient converting, such as the unpolluted steam explosion platform and the novel solid-state fermentation platform, and has published more than 200 papers and 13 books and applied about 150 patents. Based on his fruitful research achievements the demonstration factory of 3000 tons cellulose-ethanol per year was established in 2006, and the production line of 300 thousand tons per year of corn straw refinery industrialization was set up in 2010.
