Biography
Dr. Deng has spent much of her career studying viruses that are causative agents for tumors. Her main research interests are to investigate the replication mechanisms of viruses and virus-host interactions, so as to gain insights into viral pathogenesis and to develop better therapeutics and diagnosis. Research Interest
Her current work are summarized as follows: 1) to study the mechanisms governing transcriptional regulation, genome replication, and virion morphogenesis and egress of tumor-associated herpesviruses; 2) to investigate the interactions between tumor-associated herpesviruses and the host innate and adaptive immune systems, both in vitro and in vivo; 3) to develop and test novel gene delivery vectors based on a murine herpesvirus; 4) to investigate the underlying mechanisms for viral hepatitis.
