Biography
Prof Bi’s work focuses on problems encountered in the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis, including the poor detection rate of TB, the rise of drug resistance, the poor protection afforded by current vaccines, and the lack of drugs for treating latent TB infections. Her network of research collaborations spans different disciplines within IBP and different institutes and universities, both nationally and internationally. Using the concepts of systems biomedicine, her group has developed new research methods and techniques and identified new biomarkers, immunogens and drug targets. These results and achievements have been published in more than 80 papers in international journals including Nature Genetics, Cell Research, and Nucleic Acids Research. The group also has 10 patent
