Biography
He graduated from Nanjing University in radio physics in 1987, and later worked in the 784th Factory of Ministry of Electronics Industry on radar receiver systems. In 1991 he received a master's degree on physical electronics and optoelectronics at University of Electronic Science and Technology in Chengdu (UESTC), and later stayed to teach. In 1993 he studied as a doctoral student educated by both UESTC and Southwestern Institute of Physics, and received his Ph.D degree by the end of 1995. In June 1995 he received an unconventional promotion to be an Associate Professor at UESTC. During 1996-1997, he did post-doctoral research in the Department of Technical Physics, Peking University. In 1998, funded by an Israeli foundation, he went to Tel Aviv University to study at Electrical Engineering - Physical Electronics Department to continue post-doctoral research work. In 1999 funded by Germany's Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, he went to Research Center Karlsruhe in Germany with a Humboldt Research Fellowship and worked on harmonic gyrotron research. In October 2000, he was selected into "Hundred Talents" of CAS and returned to CAS Institute of Electronics. In 2001 he won a prize of National Outstanding Youth Science Fund. In 2006 he appeared in the "Ten Million New Century Talents Project" state-level candidates. He is presently the deputy director of CAS Institute of Electronics; and the director of Key Laboratory of High-Power Microwave Sources and Technology. He graduated from Nanjing University in radio physics in 1987, and later worked in the 784th Factory of Ministry of Electronics Industry on radar receiver systems.
