Biography
Dr. Yonghong Wu, Associate Professor in Chinese Academy of Science. His interests focus on the studies of periphyton biofilms. The goal is to understand the relationship between micro-ecosystems such as periphyton and aquatic ecosystem self-modulation in phytoplankton-dominated waters, and then to control the pollution input by ecological engineering. He has research experience of more than ten years on the control of nonpoint source pollution, eutrophication and cyanobacterial blooms in a plateau lake, Dianchi Lake, a hypereutrophic lake with frequent cyanobacterial blooms. He is experienced in project management and has been in charge of twelve national projects as chief-investigator with Chinese government organizations such as the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Natural Foundation of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Wu has published about 40 publications and has received 6 patents (One has been sold to a commercial company), and has been acknowledged in both Ministry of Agriculture, China and Yunnan Province, China awards for excellence in ecological engineering studies.
