Research Interest
Organisms from extreme environments represent an expanding pool of untapped biocatalytic capacity. Extremophiles could thrive under extremes of temperature, pH, salinity, or some combination of otherwise ‘abiotic’ conditions which are very similar with the real industrial production conditions. The challenging environments of extremophiles highlight their great potential for industrial biotechnology. Our group focuses on the synthetic biotechnology for important bio-based chemicals production by using extremophiles as producers: -Screening, engineering and application of extremophiles with industrial potentials -Synthetic biotechnology for bio-based platform and high value-added fine chemicals production and their industrialization
