Biography
Dr. Yunlong Sheng received Baccalaureate degree from University of Science and Technology of China, Beijing in 1964, Doctorate degree in Optics in 1982, and ‘Docteur d’État’ (France) degree in Physics in 1986, both from University de Franche-Comte in France. He joints the Center for Optics, Photonics and Lasers (COPL), University Laval, Quebec Canada since 1985 and is now a full professor. Dr. Sheng has published more than 250 technical papers and holds 2 international patents for the invention of fabrication techniques for the complex fiber Bragg gratings (FBG). Dr. Yunlong Sheng has been elected as Fellow of the Optics Society of America (OSA) in 2005 and Fellow of the International Society of Optical Engineering (SPIE) in 1999. Google/scholar finds more than 4000 citations of Dr. Y. Sheng’s publications with the h-index of 33.
Research Interest
His research interest involves nano-optics, optical trapping, bio cell mechanics, diffractive optics, optical signal processing, object detection and image processing.
