Biography
Zefeng Wang is a Director of CAS-MPG Partner Institute for Computational Biology, China. Formaerly he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA.
Research Interest
The RNA system biology group at the Partner Institute for Computational Biology has already recruited several bright and energetic young scientists to work on several key questions in RNA biology. We are using a combination of molecular biology, computational biology, genetic/genomics, and biochemistry approaches to understand how gene expression is controlled at RNA level in a global scale. We take advantage of increasingly available big data in biology and medicine by systematically analyzing these multi-level data to gain mechanistic insight of post-transcriptional gene regulation. Because RNA is the center of the central dogma, our study on RNA processing will provide valuable information about human health.
