Biography
Li Peilin is the vice president of CASS, and as a member of its leading Party members’ group.Li Peilin was born at Jinan (capital city of Shandong Province) in May 1955. In 1982, he graduated from the Department of Philosophy at Shandong University, and then studied abroad from1983. He got his master’s degree from the University of Lyon (France) in 1984, and a PhD degree in sociology from the University of Paris 1 (Sorbonne) in 1987.Li is an alternate member of the 18th CPC Central Committee, vice president of CASS, member of the leading Party members’ group of CASS, CASS Member, member of the Presidium of the CASS Academic Divisions, director of the Institute of Sociology, chief manager of the “Philosophy and Social Sciences Innovation Project” of CASS in the Institute of Sociology, research fellow (professor) and PhD candidate supervisor.In 1992, Li was awarded the title of “Young Expert of Outstanding Achievements” by the government, and enjoyed a special allowance by the government from 1993. In 1996, he was selected as the nation-level representative for the “Millions of Talent in the New Century Project.” After that, he won the award of “National Outstanding Returned Overseas Chinese Talent” in 2003 and was elected to be a representative of the “Four Groups Talents” in the national system of publicity and culture in 2005.
