Biography
Yang Yongheng is a Lecturer of the School of Food and Environment of Dalian University of Technology, China.
Research Interest
Dr. Yongheng Yang's primary research interests include detecting the presence of fecal contamination in food and water, tracking the sources of foodborne pathogens in the environment by the use of host specific microbial indicators, developing novel molecular methods to assess the infectiousness of foodborne enteric viral pathogens potentially present in water or food, as well as the use of bacteriophages to control the growth of foodborne pathogens. Dr. Yongheng Yang is also working on isolation, identification and characterization of probiotics, and investigation of the mechanisms of their heath-beneficial effects at molecular level. Dr. Yongheng Yang is responsible for teaching Food Safety, and Food Biotechnology.
