Biography
Ms. Lin Biying is a professor and a master’s supervisor of the College of Horticulture, who began teaching at Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University in 1986. Now, Porfessor Lin is the deputy director of the Department of Implementing Agricultural Science and Engineering. She also serves as the vice president of the 11th Horticultural Society of Fujian Province, and the symdic members of the Watermelon-Melon Association and the Courtyard Economy Seminar of Fujian Province. During her tenure in F.A.F.U, Professor Lin has been devoting herself to teaching and doing researches in the field of horticulture. Her reseacher interests are in vegetable breeding and growing, vegetable physiology and biochemistry, and protected horticulture. Professor Lin has been teaching a variety of courses in the areas of facility agriculture, which include Protected Cultivation, Soilless Culture, Vegetable Cultivation and Conspectus of Horticultural Therapy for undergraduates, Advanced Vegetable Breeding, Special Subject of Protected Vegetable Cultivation and Special Subject of Advanced Vegetable Cultivation for postgraduates, and The Vegetable Pollution and the Mechanism of Environmental Regulation for Ph.D candidates. In 2001 and 2010, she was twice granted as the excellent teacher of F.A.F.U. She has participated in more than 20 studies and promotions of the ministerial and provincial level scientific researches, compiled 5 scientific works and teaching materials, and published more than 20 academic dissertations over her career. At the same time, she was awarded the third prize of Science and Technology Award of Fujian Province, the second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Fuzhou City and the third prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Longyan City. Being a research supervisor, Professor Lin welcomes and enrolls the postgraduates who are interested or majored in Horticulture, Vegetable and Implementing Agriculture Science and Engineering.
