Biography

With the digit sequencing, Molecular biological, tissue culture, transgenic and Bioinformatics tools, we are investigating in sugarcane response to the infection of sugarcane pathogens and to drought and cold stresses in order to mining the interested genes. Meanwhile, we are analyzing the biologic process during the stresses and molecular mechanisms controlling plant disease resistance and increasing tolerance to environmental stresses by the biological, biochemical and molecular biological methods. Our specific research interests include: Ø Gene expression, miRNA, protein gene and transcription factor mining in sugarcane in response to pathogen and environmental stresses. Ø Predictions of regulation network in sugarcane in response to pathogen and environmental stresses. Ø Molecular mechanisms controlling plant disease resistance and environmental tolerance processes. Ø Sugarcane resistance improvement and transgenic safety evaluation. Ø Development of molecular marker and assisted breeding
