Zhongxiong Lai

Biography

Zhongxiong Lai, male, Ph. D, born in 1966, professor, doctoral supervisor. Working as the deputy Dean in College of Horticulture and the Director for Institute of Horticultural Biotechnology in Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, he taught graduate (Ph.D. and Master candidates) and undergraduate courses on Plant Tissue Culture in Horticultral Crops, Horticultural Plant Genomics, Molecular Biology in Fruits，etc.，and he is mainly focus on the research in fields of plant in vitro culture, transgenics, molecular biology and functional genomics in horticultural crops. In the past ten years，he has taken charge of over 20 scientific research projects，funded by National Natural Sciences Foundation of China, National Scientific and Technological Supporting Project of China, National 948 Project, China’s Modern Agricultural Industrial System Fund, Fok Ying-Tong Education Foundation for Young Teachers in the higher Education Institutions of China, Foundation for University Key Teachers from the Ministry of Education of China, Research Fund for the Doctoral Program of Higher Education of China, and he also published over 200 papers in the academic journals such as Plos One, Plant Science, Molecular Breeding, PPB, Journal of Chinese Agricultural Sciences, Acta Horticulturae Sinica and so on. Over 110 postgraduates supervised by Professor Lai have achieved their master or Ph. D degrees.Academic disciplines include Pomology and Flowers and Ornamental.
