Biography
Male, born in September 1958, Ph.D., Professor on peanut genetics and breeding, molecular and cellular biology, functional genomics and plant gene engineering. Director of Fujian provincial key laboratory of crop molecular and cell biology, director of oil crops research institute of Fujian agriculture and forestry university. Successively presided over more than 30 projects supported by the state and national funds, such as national 863 projects, funds from ministry of science and technology, international science and technology cooperation programme, specific supporting plan, and other countries or provincial level projects. Developed 6 peanut seed techniques, and successfully solved the long-term prevalence problem of peanut seed rotting and deficiency seedlings in early spring in south China. Developed a comprehensive technology system for the control of aflatoxin contamination in peanut which also greatly improved peanut yield and quality. Successively obtained 3 items of second prize for Fujian provincial science and technology progress award, 1 item of third prize for national tobacco science and technology progress award. Applied for 10 national invention patents, 3 of them have been authorized. Successively bred 5 new peanut varieties released by country and Fujian province. The first bred cultivar with white seed coat were planted over 20 provinces around China. Minhua 6 and other varieties were applied more than 10 provinces south of Yangtze river basin. First carried out the peanut molecular and cell biology research in China, and first developed comprehensive peanut functional genes and peanut genome-wide expression spectrum microarray contained 100,000 Unigene, which was to isolate functional genes relating to tissues developments and across conditions. Published more than 130 papers on different journals. Trained more than 40 graduate students.
