Biography
Anna van Paddenburg is GGGI’s Land-use Sector Lead. Prior to this she led the Indonesia Program of GGGI. She joined GGGI’s global team with a wealth of experience on valuations of natural resources and the invaluable ecosystem services nature provides to humanity. Dutch by nationality, born in Papua New Guinea and having spend a significant part of her childhood on many remote islands of Indonesia and the Pacific, she is determined to highlight the importance of natural capital for a lasting economy, food, resouce and climate security in her work. Anna currently works closely with the Government of Indonesia in an effort to ‘green’ the master plan for economic development (MP3EI), to coordinate the process of direct REDD+ finance to catalyse green growth in Indonesia. as well as identification of priority interventions for green growth, based on innovative management of forest lands and natural resources. Anna has over 10 years of experience in Asia. Prior to her work in Indonesia she was based in Beijing. She worked for a variety of NGOs including Wetlands International, The Nature Conservancy and WWF on technical elements and policy measures related to sustainable finance, water resource protection, natural resource management, biodiversity protection, community development/livelihood securities, as well as broader bi/multilateral, corporate fundraising and partnership development.
