Biography
Hendrik Segah is the Central Kalimantan Representative of the GGGI Country Team in Indonesia. Prior to joining GGGI, Hendrik collaborated with various institutions in Indonesia in the role of Assistant Professor at Center for Sustainability Science/CENSUS of Hokkaido University in Sapporo (Japan). In Hokkaido University, he also managed the JST-JICA Project “Wild Fires and Carbon Management in Peat Forest in Indonesia” (2010-2013). Previously, he worked with WWF as Heart of Borneo (HoB) Program Coordinator in Central Kalimantan (2006-2010). He is equipped with specific and practical skills on how to support local government in shaping environmental and natural resources policies, strengthen the participative approach to natural resources management, synchronize and integrate community empowerment programs, especially in tropical areas such as Indonesia.
