Biography

Dr. Dominic Yeo is assistant professor and director of the organizational communication undergraduate programme at the Department of Communication Studies, Hong Kong Baptist University. Dr. Yeo (pronounced as "Yo") is a Singaporean born and bred. He graduated with a PhD in Social Psychology from Cambridge University and a BSocSc (First Class Honours) in Communication from National University of Singapore. Dr. Yeo's research generally examines how ideas spread through mediated social communication. He has obtained competitive research grants under the General Research Fund (GRF) and Early Career Scheme (ECS) of Hong Kong's Research Grants Council to investigate the role of social media in the sexual and political behaviors of youths. His work has been published in Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly; Culture, Health & Sexuality; AIDS Care; Journal of Advertising Research; Environmental Communication; and International Journal of Communication. Dr. Yeo teaches management trainee assessment, research methods, and health communication. He works with PhD students who are interested in communication psychology or Internet studies.
