Biography
Dr. Jincai CHEN is Professor of Computer Science at the School of Computer Science and Technology/Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics (WNLO), Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China. He has impressive expertise and research activities in the field of data storage systems, especially in the research direction of magnetic recording and nonvolatile memory technologies as well as big data. He has been working on high density storage devices and the next generation of networked storage systems, including patterned media, shingled disk, hybrid disk, PCRAM-based device, and cloud storage systems. In recent years, he has been taking charge of several projects about patterned media and shingled disk supported by the Natural Science Foundation of China, and he has been taking part in several networked storage-related projects supported by the National Advanced Technology Development Program (also called 863 programs). During recent years, he has published above 60 papers in the IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, Intermag, TMRC and etc. He also owns 25 patents about data storage technologies.
